My name is Diane Cook and I live in Preston, Lancashire.
My first introduction to glass was in 2002 when I took a course in stained glass which lead to a qualification in Design and Craft 3D studies. I moved on to glass fusing and I was successfully selling my fused glass through a number of craft outlets when I decided to take a lesson in bead making from Mike Poole of Tillerman Glass just to see what the fuss was about! Well the rest, as they say, is history. Mike is such a good teacher that, although I do still make and sell fused glass, my main love and passion now is glass bead making. I treated myself to 2 wonderful days with Dora Schubert in 2007 and last year took a class with Sally Carver.
In June 2009 I was very proud to be selected as Artist of the Month on the fantastic glassy forum Frit Happens, to read it click here
I recently brought out my old silversmithing tools in order to create some bead caps and earwires and have now added these to the shop and continue to pursue silversmithing alongside the lampworking.
